Who I am and what I do!
Sep 01, 2021 by Colette Alaine
Now that the second edition of the first three novels of The Martinique Files are released, I'm hoping that many of my readers will join us on this blog so I'm going to reintroduce myself!
As the author of an environnmental thriller series, my experience as a retired attorney is relevant to environmental issues today, including fracking, toxic dumping, exploration, renewable energy and many others. I have encapsulated current environmental tragedies into a six novel series involving two environmental attorneys and thier largest client, Ken Shelton, an environmental engineer extraordinaire, who works to correct problems under water, in the air and on the land. When he needs legal advice, he calls the master attorney, Billy Solomon, who is as arrogant as he is competent. Rich monetarily and in good looks, his success came early in life and still quite young, he is force. When Tawny Martinique is hired first as his law clerk and then as his associate, he treats her with as much disdain as he can muster. Unfortunately, her grit, intelligence and amazing beauty weaken his resistance. When Ken calls for help in 'Legal Lessons', circumstances require Billy to take Tawny along for the ride. As time passes, he realizes how much of an asset she is to his cases. In time, Billy cannot resist the temptation any longer and makes a move on his associate, which she accepts until the callous side of her boss rears its ugly head. While extremely knowledgable in his profession, Ken manages to put the three of them into precarious situations that often threaten thier lives. Complicated by romantic tension between the two attorneys and a love triangle with the senior lawyer's best friend, these romantic thrillers are a must read for both thriller readers and romance lovers.
I will be sharing more about myself as time passes and you'll understand why I can relate so well to Tawny and oftentimes to Billy as well. Until then, happy reading my thrillseekers!
